The gameplay involves a total of 72 tiles, beginning with one terrain tile face up while the remaining 71 are shuffled face down for players to draw from. <p>Each turn presents a new terrain tile that must be placed adjacent to existing tiles. The new tile should extend features like roads, fields, or cities, maintaining consistency across the board. <p>After placing a tile, players have the option to deploy a “follower” or “meeple” on available slots of that tile. However, followers cannot be used to claim areas already occupied by another player’s follower. The player with the highest score claims victory in Carcassonne.</p>
